We accept referrals from a variety of resources, including Social Service Departments, Human Service Agencies, Mental Health Centers, and Private Referrals.  The Application process consists of a completed Residential Child Care & Family Services Application, a Current Physical, Immunization Record, Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Court Order, a brief Social History, and where appropriate a Psychological. No application is turned away, but its completion does not guarantee acceptance or admission. All applications are submitted to the Director of Social Services at Falcon Children's Home.

After the Director of Social Services receives the completed application, he presents the application to the Admissions Committee for review. It is our practice to review an application as soon as it is received. The Director of Social Services will remain in contact with the person(s) or Agency making the referral and will report to them the determination of the Admissions Committee. At that time he will make an arrangement for the child's placement at Falcon Children's Home or share recommendations for an alternative placement.

Falcon Children's Home is a Low-management Residential Childcare Facility and therefore serves the child who needs out of the home placement due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Children needing placement due to behaviors such as constantly running away, drug and alcohol abuse, truancy, defiance, theft, physical aggression, and mental and emotional disorders are considered on a case by case basis.

Each child admitted into our care has an individual Plan of Care, which is developed with the child, their Guardian, and our agency. The Plan of Care includes placement goals that can range from showing academic progress, developing and improving social skills, modifying unwanted behaviors and attitudes, to cultivating career and educational pathways. From the Plan of Care our staff is able to determine the programs and opportunities suitable for each individual child.

Strengthening a child's sense of self-worth, self-assuredness, belief, and autonomy are key goals of our care. Witnessing the dignity and respect that emerges when a child is given the opportunity to have relationships of mutual respect, trust, encouragement, and safety is the focus of our staff.
